Featured Flower Friday: RANUNCULUS

Featured Flower Friday: RANUNCULUS

What's up Buttercup!

These sweet flowers are full of layers that create a fun, fluffy look as they bloom. The Latin name comes from the phrase "little frog" since these flowers were often found close to stream edges, where the little frogs also hung out.

With Over 600 varieties, it's easy to find a Buttercup for almost any occasion. We are particularly in love with the extra frilly Japanese Ranunculus (the peachy pink & fuchsia-colored ones below that look like frilly Tulips, but with more petals).

The Nerone Ranunculus is another one of our favs because it provides such a deep, dark, rich purple that contrast nicely with brighter flowers in arrangements. It's perfect for a touch of moodiness. Or sophistication.

Lastly, we love these bubbly, little flowers because they last long in arrangements. With the right conditions and fresh water changes, you can enjoy these babes for at least a week, if not longer.
