10 Years. Holy cow. This small business, started by sister-brother duo Alexandra and Mike Scholtz, started as a joint floral and landscape design venture, complete with a couch in the back office where the two could stay in order to extend their hours and grind to get the business off the ground. 10 years later, there are now two flourishing businesses, the shop has doubled in size, and the Mike and Al no longer need to use the back office for a little shut eye.
It's truly been amazing to see this place grow and change over time. Between a pandemic and the lessons in "you don't know what you don't know," we've been lucky to blossom. And a huge part of that is our incredible clients. You kept our shop open through 2020, as we watched so many of our favorite small businesses close shop. You followed us on social media, and spread the word about our designs. And you give us feedback when you see room for improvement, helping us to always strive to be better. And for that we say THANK YOU!
To celebrate, we turned the shop into a celebration all day long, starting with a complementary Goodhart Coffee Bar in the morning to add a little pep to our customers' step. We kept the party going with DJ Zoraya, and afternoon wine pours from Dia Natural Wine, and enjoyed adding a little flower power to everyone with our temporary tattoo station (which was such a hit, we will likely soon be offering sheets of our custom temp tats in the shop)!
We were also joined by Alexandra & Mike's parents - Alexandra is a second generation florist and was able to bring so much knowledge to her business due to spending her childhood watching her mom run her own shop.
We also had one our very own designers, Mallory Higgins, paint California Poppies on the storefront to celebrate.
At the end of the day, we wrapped things up with a cake, decorated with edible flowers, because duh. It was truly a magical day and great way to say thank you to our lovely customers for 10 years of support.
