Lengthening the Life of your Flower Arrangement

Lengthening the Life of your Flower Arrangement

So you've just received a beautiful flower arrangement from a loved one and you want to know how to make it last as long as possible. We've got you! We all know that flowers don't last forever, but by following these simple steps you will give your flower arrangement its best chance at staying beautiful as long as possible!

Step One:

Empty the dirty water from the vase and refill with fresh water. Very important! The more you change out the water, the longer your arrangement will last. We recommend changing the water daily to avoid bacteria build up that will shorten the life of your flower arrangement.

Step Two:

Trim about half an inch off the bottom of each stem and cut at a 45 degree angle. This ensures that the flowers all get a fresh drink of water and optimizes the space that the flower will drink from.

Step Three:

Pull out any dead flowers from the arrangement. Some flowers are longer lasting than others and they will start to die at varying times. As soon as you see a stem starting to wilt, pull it from the arrangement so it doesn't dirty the water for your other blooms.

  • Great info – for flowers to last! I put about a tablespoon of peroxide in vase too.
And if going away – put in sturdy vase in refridge ( so I have more days to photograph them!) love your posts!!! 💐
